  1. The old Work Desk

Some folks have asked where and how do I do my feather enlays. Here is "The Desk" where all my creations are made. It has to be messy or I can't find anything. Tried keeping it neat and that didn't work out. I know it looks like a mess, but I know where every feather is!!!!!
  2. Black Buffalo Horn Reelseat

This is the reelseat to the Sage I am working on. It is Black Buffalo Horn with an Amber Cap. Uplocking seat with some unusual figure in it.
  3. This is special reelseat made for me by REC several years ago. REC never finished the project and I only received 3 of these special reelseats. They are engraved with a 14kt gold band in the center. Wood is Carolina Cherry burl. Rod is a 3 piece Sage with Ivory and burl wood enlays. One of kind reelseat.
  4. Amber Cap Reelseat

Finished a 5 piece Winston with a nice reelseat made of burl with an ivroy ring and Amber cap. Amber has a size 36 or so small fly fossilized inside. Can be seen with a naked eye.

Nice little 6 feather pattern with some jungle cock on a 21 inch mark
  6. Finished Sage base feather work

Finished Sage with a simple, but popping feather pattern. Has Kenya Crested, Malay, Crow, Peacock, Jay and others. Handle is Burl cork, Spalted Maple, CA Buckeye burl and nice piece of Fossil Ivory with a crack. Stunning handle when seen wet. Thinking of putting a little scrim Shaw on the side, maybe a little mayfly in two colors. Thoughts?
  7. 24 In mark

A small 24 in mark on a Sage I haven't quite finsihed yet, but it is comming around. Jungle cock among 3 other feathers make up the small pattern with Indian Crow and Peacock
  8. Hook Keeper

Here is how I do hook keepers with a swelled butt rod. I use the smallest drill bit I can find and drill a small hole in the wood ring or Ivory. (in this case a small ring of black buffalo horn. Then I take a stainless steel hook and cut it off below the eye, making a small post with a ring. I attached a 3 ring keeper to the hook shank and glue it in the hole. In the past I have used Toucan claws for keepers as well. Enjoy
  9. Shadow on the 1 wt

Another angle of the 1 wt. can see the detail of the feathers as they emerge from the shadow
