This is a little 7'6" 3 wt Sage I made for a fishing buddy. He wanted something different and it is wrapped in hand twisted silk made by me. It is a green and gray single strand silk I made myself by twisting together the two strands and wrapping the blank. Very time consuming to make the strands, but a nice effect.

He likes to fish the Lower Owens so I decided to use a fly from that area. I kept the feather work plain and simple to reflect his principles. I used a simple Pheasant feather base with a Peacock Pheasant on top of that and limited the bright feathers It is crested in both the Argus and Bustard feathers with a little Eurasian Jay on the side with a white Biot feather inlayed under a Jungle Cock. The rod has Purple Heart and Ebony wood on the handle with a little buffalo horn. Reel seat is Purple Heart which he likes. It is wrapped in hand twisted silk made by me. It has a very nice blue parrot feather, with a yellow one over that with a red cock of the rock feather on top. It has double JC eyes with veiling of Macaw (both Scarlet and Blye/Gold), has Speckled Bustard, Florican Bustard and a Nice Argus veiling to top the sides off. It has a JC secondary feather on each side with a JC eye on that. It was finished off with a black wrap and 24 ct gold chain as a winding check. All of this is one a green blank, wrapped in a gray thread with no CP. Handle has Ivory, black buffalo horn, some flies inlayed in the handle, burl cork, Carolina Cherry burl wood with a Lamar Reelseat from Andy.

A feather or two finishes this one up with a gold chain winding check

After some input on the board, I made a full wells grip using stag, buffalo horn, buckeye, carolina cherry burl and box elder burl. And burl cork. Only a 4 wt, but should make a nice float tube rod. Can't wait to put a feather or two on this one. I have 7 rods in the works, all in various stages of being built. Will post pictures of all when I am done. This one turned out rather nicley and thanks to A. Dear for those madrells to turn down handles like these. Without a mandrell, turning handles like this is all but impossible, unless you are a true craftsman, like the MunichRodMan or Eden!!!

Placed a mayfly nymph in the end of a reelseat made of black buffalo horn with a ivory cap. Turned out ok. NO SUCH THING AS BUBBLE FREE EPOXY Went on the red feather rod posted some time ago here. Casted it yesterday and it was great.

Didn't feel like doing a scrim so I decided to try something new. Placed a mayfly nymph in the end of a reelseat made of black buffalo horn with a ivory cap. Turned out ok. NO SUCH THING AS BUBBLE FREE EPOXY
