  1. Yellowfin Tuna

YellowFin Tuna wrap I'm putting on a GUSA Predator with ACID Rollers. When I'm done I'll post teh sequence, it's a "secret" for now - at least until Dave S figures it out!
  2. Closed Open Wrap?

I created this wrap with Visualwrap, and posted it here a few weeks back. I did change when I did the actaul wrap, I made teh White thread connect between the patterns, rather than seperate it with Brown thread. The pattern has 6 repeats, is over 300 millimeters long, and came out almost perfect (just ignore those small gaps put there by the high quality digi cam, you really can't see then in real life) http://www.fishingphotos.net/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=2139&papass=&sort=1&thecat=500
  3. Closed Open Wrap?

The Brown thread matches the color or the Ron Arra 1321 almost to a Tee, making the wrap look like it's open - when it's actually closed. Spent a LOT of time creating and wrapping this, 15 hours wrapping & packing, but this is my favorit-ist wrap, and probably one of the best as far as threadwork is concerned
  4. Blackfish Inlay model

I used this one fo rthe head and fins, another one for teh body (similar though). I did glue the top fin in the wrong spot, I'll be cutting tht off and moving it back so it swims properly - lol.
  5. Blackfish Inlay

This took me about 16 hours to complete, planning, cutting and finally gluing. There are 82 pieces in this pattern. All I need now is a blank to put this on, and I'm ready to go.
  6. Square Background?

Got bored with square background's, so I figured out a curved background behind each pattern. I actually wrapped this pattern on a Ron Arra 1321, it took me about 15 hours due to all the packing issues I had. I didn't take pics of the rod before I delivered it 3 months ago, wish I did.
  7. Predator II

This is like dangling a Carrot in front of a Donkey. Poor Striper, he's hungry.
  8. Baitfish

Simple Baitfish wrap, with a Shaded Blue background - 4 shades. Wrapped double, and slightly elongated on an SMB1143F cut to an 11 tip.
  9. Maximizing Space

12x12" drying box. big enough to turn 4 rods at once, or one surf rod with High Frame guides (40HH) in the almost center.
  10. Maximizing Space

Simple way of making 2 floors. Gotta be careful transferring rods from my lathe bed into teh box, so far so good. THat White thing is my heat source, a Halogen light fixture wih 3 25 watt bulbs. I have 4 units in my box. Temperature gets up to almost 90 now, near 100 during the summer.
  11. Striper Inlay

Here is the finished Bass Inlay. Matching Guide wrap Blue over metallic Blue, with Silver and Red Trim at each end, with a Silver Red Silver trim band in the center of the underwrap.
  12. Little of everything

This grip goes with et Yellow guide wrap I posted the other day. I tried putting together a grip that employs a little bit of everything - trim bands, circles, checkerboards, Sawtooth, and even a trim band in the sawtooth. Everything was Rosy until I sanded the grip (a lot) and near the butt cap I realized the way the grip looked on the surface, was a lot different than how it looked underneath. Sanding, proved this. Oh Well.
  13. Calstar 700XL

Here's a full view of the wrap. NOtice the bump where the tie off is on both ends, and a small bump in the center of the wrap. This was the 5th butt wrap I did, so I was pleased. It does irk me know seeing these bumps and scratches. Might have to do some sanding and recoating.
  14. 700XL

I posted this a long time ago on Moment of fame. Here's a close up of I think pattern 60 or 64 (I lost my CRTA book). That flash of light in teh center is GOld Holographic thread. Problem I ran into was I was using MAdeira 7/2 Metallic Gold (equivalent to size 00 I think), and I couldn't pack it enough or it would break. Rod is a Calstar 700XL, and it's going into it's 3rd year of use, which is why it's scratched up.
  15. Pretty in Pink

Top view you can see where the wrap as scratched up rod being throw in and out of a rod holder. Only downside to putting a butt wrap where it is. Reel is a Pink Abu Colt from the 60's, sexy combo. Oh, not for me though. Uh, it's for my wife, yeah that's it, my wife.
  16. Pretty in Pink

I'll blame this rod on my wife. It's not mine, I swear. 0411 guide wraps too. Shaded Star with a SHaded background, simple pattern with a twist. Another rod I fished before it was complete, so I neve finished putting the final coats of epoxy on (Ghetto rods by Billy 40) I'll hopefully finish this rod in the Winter, needs a matching butt wrap ahead of the foregrip
  17. Lots'a gaps

This kind of turned me of to the changing colors on a double wrap concept. lol. There were close to 200 threads used in the pattern. Also turned me off to using NCP Yellow = YUCK! Since it was an early butt wrap, I had no idea how to fix all those gaps, which were caused by the way teh pattern was formed & tension issues. If I did somethin glike this now, I'd cut it off (I could care less I spent 10+ hours on it)
  18. Lots'a gaps

Side view of a wrap I did a couple of years ago. I think this was my 7th butt wrap. Too many gaps, I ahte fishing with it. Blank is a Lami CGBT781M. Also was teh last rod I didn't consult my wife on with choosing colors - lol!
  19. Grey on Gray

I should make more basic guide wraps like this. Anyone got a Bra for the epoxy on this guide?
  20. Ocea Jigger Guide

Perfect color match for my Ocea Jigger. Med Gray over Pewter metallic. Guess what, No CP again. In teh Sunlight, it's almost a perfect match. Nice Holographic strip in teh center
  21. Red on Red

Simple guide wrap, nice and balanced. Not too flashy, and not too hard to do. Need another coat of epoxy.
  22. Red over Red

Scarlet over Metallic Red Madiera, once again no CP. Added some Siler here and there, and a nice black stripe in the center. No bubbles = AFTCO finish, which I think is a winner.
  23. Red Wine

Lots more bubbles in the pic that you can see with the naked eye. I swear. Love teh rod, hate how the finish came out though.
  24. Red Wine

Superior Cranberry Metallic under, Maroon Nylon over, no CP. Looks like a glass of Red Wine.
  25. Yellow Nylon no CP

Any one want a Pittsburgh Pirates Rod? EDIT: Gotta love taking and posting an upside down picture.
