Photo #5: Just prior to application of color protectant. 4 lb. monofilament line spiral wrapped over the butt wrap to keep threads in place. Approximately 1/8th inch spacing.

Spider. 8 shades of yel/orange with dark brown back ground. Super Seeker 6 1/2' 20-40 lb "jiggin stick". Wrap goes well with the brown/tangerine finish of the rod blank. Were I to do it over, I'd go with a lighter shade of brown or possibly shaded brown back ground.

Not bad ain't good enough!!! Back to the drawing board just as soon as I have a good cry!

Purple shaded flurescent grn/yel star pattern.

Spider shaded with 7 shades of Madeira Red/orange. One shade per pass.

Blue shaded sparkler closed wrap. This is same wrap as my previous post. Amazing difference between natural light and light from an incandescent bulb.

Photo was taken of this unfinished sparkler pattern without use of a flash. The available lighting from a nearby incandesecent lamp radically changed the color tones and shades of these blue Madeira threads. Sure wish I could harness these colors for a future butt wrap!

I had to work hard to close this wrap. Hence the the ity bitty fuzzys in the thread from burnishing.
