  1. Rod_3_pic_3

I hopped on the Marbling Bandwagon. Many thanks to everyone who posted suggestions on this technique. I mixed two sets of epoxy finish - I added a purple pigment (looks blue in the picture, however) to one and a yellow pigment to the other. Unfortunately, my camera didn't pick up the detailed swirled effects of the yellow in the purple. The threads match the purple and yellow finish pretty well, although a slight contrast appears in the picture.
  2. Custom Cork Handle

I used four types of cork in the handle - a rubber/cork composite, burl cork, natural cork, and cork gasket material (the accent lines around the natural cork in the pictures). After gluing the cork pieces together, I shaped them on a Grizzly hobby-lathe and later applied a cork sealant, which brought out the cork's lines.
  3. This is my first attempt at building a cork handle. I used four types of cork (natural, burl, rubber/cork composite, and gasket material), the Grizzly Hobby Lathe, and a mandrel from Lamar Reel Seats.
