  1. First Attempt at Moire (Tiger) Wrap

Scott Throop's directions were pretty easy to follow; first try at this. Photos are difficult to take of these and still don't do these style wraps any justice at all.
  2. Samples for Woodland Demonstration

I gave a few seminars including two on Gudebrod braids at Lamiglas's rod builders get-together last weekend and made these up for some samples to show the guys. These are just "mocked up" like they're in a split grip area. Actually cut off right after the tie-in wraps on a piece of rod blank.
  3. Nephew's Christmas Present

My godson's Christmas present. He's quite the Packer's fan; his bedroom is full of their memorabilia. Waterslide decals made on my Alps printer.
  4. Walleye Rod for Christmas

One I built recently for a Christmas present. Decals from an Alps printer over marbling.
  5. MATE IN GREEN/SILVER

1st of the two rods for my friend. Rainshadow hotshot blanks; RX7's. I actually delivered the purple one to him today at lunch.
  6. PURPLE POWER

One of a matched pair of rods recently completed.
  7. DAV ROD PROJECT

Finished up and sent to Jeff Harding last Monday. He presented it to Jason McNamara along with another spinning rod last Thursday night. 6 builders involved in the two gift rods and we're all grinning from ear to ear!
  8. THE GUIDE

Myles' newest addition; his first son. Those girls are gonna get some mileage out of this guy! Congratulations, Bearclaw. Didn't know ya had it in ya! LOL!
  9. NERBs' Pens and a Project

I got the NERBs' members who'll be at Charlotte some customized ink pens done up. The reel seat was a practice run for the "Kustom for Kids" rod that Stan Grace, Ron Walter and I will be finishing up on in March sometime. The 'un'completed rod will be at the Charlotte show (needs marbling and guides wrapped yet). We haven't decided yet to do the reel seat... Plans are to raffle it off as a fund raiser for a great kid's mentor who guides kids through rod building...
  10. Lamiglas XMG Blank

    Just another rod...
  11. Practice Rod for Global Rod

Before getting the Global Rod in my shop, I marbled the tie-off wraps on this rod. Fade wrap on guides, too...
  12. Charlotte Pens '06

Some pens made for the NE Rod Builders' (NERBs) booth in Charlotte the last weekend in February. Maybe we'll see you there!
  13. GLOBAL ROD-500 Degree Double Doc

I did go ahead and marble this with a red base to draw the eye to the smaller area of Doc's beautiful weave. I made three overlay decals on my Alps printer and put opposite of Doc's workmanship. The marbling kinda washed out a bit in order to get the decal and Doc's weave to look right. Maybe come to Charlotte and look at it in person, buy a few raffle tickets, and maybe win this hummer!
  14. GLOBAL ROD-Billy Vivona's Wrap

I marbled pretty much a matching blend of Billy's wrap colors here with more red to start going towards Doc's weave area where I'll marble a red base to "pop" it and draw the eye to the smaller area of his beautiful weave!! Billy and Mike's wraps are really something to see!!
  15. GLOBAL ROD-Pens, Anyone? LOL!

Received the rod on Weds. Had my boys over to help choose colors for tying in to all 3 wraps on this. Marbled several pens on Thursday and chose these two as best representatives before beginning in earnest on Friday and going all weekend long on this. Mailed to Mike Joyce, the mad guide wrapper, at lunch today.
  16. GLOBAL ROD-Mike McGivney's Wrap

Marbling in the split grip area over the tie-in wraps of Mike McGivney's wrap. Rod to be raffled in Charlotte as a charitable fund raiser.
  17. Cousin's Blue Fly Rod

Built on a Batson 3 wt. Very nice, blue blank. She's pretty happy with her Christmas present.
  18. Overlay Waterslide Over Marbling

Just a waterslide decal I made on the Alps. On top of the marbling in the split grip area is a great place for these decals. The silver is metallic. These Alps can print in single metallic colors or overlays such as this may be done, too.
  19. Guide Wrap with Finish

Narrow trim bands help the guide wraps stand out on this one a bit better.
  20. Just Putterin' Around

Trying for a different look on some reel seats.
  21. Christmas for Kids

    Rod auctioned for the kids.
  22. Bumper Spiral

Made this up a while ago; second bumper spiral I'd built. Out catching walleyes, now!!
  23. Small Sakakawea Sauger

Finally got out fishing today. First time since last September and man, did it feel good to be out again. Let this little guy go; kept a few for the frying pan.
  24. BLUE TRANSPARENCY MARBLE

    Blue, my favorite color!
  25. SPLIT GRIP MARBLE

One of the rods I finished this week; reversed the colors for the butt wrap marble-used a white base here and marbled blue into it.
