  1. Wife's Walleye Trolling Rod

90* views of the marbling (decal, too) and trim bands on Peggy's rod ahead of the foregrip. Still have the split grip area to do and the guides and wraps.
  2. Wife's Walleye Trolling Rod

Top view of Peggy's new rod. The Daiwa Samurai reel will match the blue and silver theme she chose very nicely. The waterslide decal was made on my Alps printer.
  3. Wife's Walleye Trolling Rod

I'm building a walleye trolling rod for my wife, Peggy, to go with the jigging rod that Doc, Mark Blabaum, Rich Gassman, and Stan Grace helped me to build for her last year. This handle features Stan's beautiful Rocky Mountain Juniper and Rich Gassman's wonderful handle work. I just glued all of the components together. Reel to match the color scheme.
  4. Collage

Collage showing more of the rod. Decals made with my Alps printer.
  5. Camo Grip & Marbled Reel Seat

Finished this one up this week; should be on the water this weekend with a man who's fishing boat is even painted camo.
  6. Guide Wrap & Marbling

I tried a new thread recently received to tie in with the marbling.
  7. Doc's Surprise Reel

Doc received the reel now, so it's safe to post this pic with the decals on it. It matches the rod that Mark and I built for him earlier this spring.
  8. Reel Marble - Parts Picture

This was what was staring at me this morning. I was hoping it'd throw itself back together during the night...
  9. Reel Marble - 2nd Look

Another view; all told I probably have 12 hours into doing this.
  10. Reel Marble

Hadn't done one of these for quite a while. I'd taken it apart months ago and just finished it today. All Jacquard's Pearl Ex powdered pigments.
  11. Red Handled Rod Done

I did marble under the 4 double foot guides. I used a Madeira red metallic thread on the guide wraps. It has a sporadic bit of blue and black along with the red. Wonder if the dog biter will attack this one, too?
  12. Red Handle

Latest one I'm working on; marbled another reel seat for a friend. Building on a Lamiglas LSJ 861 blank.
  13. Marbled Reel Seat

I used the ink pens (again) as a guinea pig and then marbled this reel seat for a fella in Washington. There's a permanent marker through the reel seat to enable it to rotate on my drier. These pics were taken while rotating.
  14. Marbled Pen

Playing with a new pigment; kinda turned wild, but it's for someone who likes the really bright colors.
  15. 6' LSJ Lami

A 6' walleye jigging rod for a freshman angler.
