I just finished this spool tray to organize my thread. It can be used for rod building or fly tying. It holds 78 regular spools. It can also hold the longer Sulky spools.

Here's my buddy Mac wrapping the rod I'm helping him build. It's a 9ft 8wt Winston Ibis blank. It will be fishing the Hoh River this weekend.

Lahontan trout from Omak Lake in North Central Washington State.

Made from maple the inner diameter tapers to allow you to "jamb" fit the rod into it. The fingers flex enough to hold the rod in place firmly. It took 15 minutes to build on the lathe. It is held in place with a set screw.

I replaced the plastic handle on my Ross Gunnison 2 reel with one of cocobolo. It will match the reel seat insert I made for a new rod.

Close up of the yew, the knots are solid and the grain is really tight, even in the flat grained areas.

I converted my first wrapping tool spool holder to spool tensioner. It was thread tension, see older photo in this section.

This is a wrapping tool I made for a friend. I have simplified my first design so it's easier to build. I'm also making a full, dimensioned set of plans for all my tools.
