  1. Rod Lathe--Updated Version

Made new support wheels with a ball bearing for easy rotation. Also made a new thread carriage.
  2. Thread tension---part 2

Added a spring with a single foot guide attached to put reverse tension on the thread.
  3. dryer_bed

    Dedicate dryer
  4. dryer_chuck_2

I drilled and threaded the center of the shaft to accept a old fly tying vise. I occassionaly paint lures and can use the rod dryer to smooth the finish...turns at 10 RPM's.
  5. dryer_chuck

Dedicated dryer made out of left over material.
  6. wrapper_bed

The rollers are wheels for a glass door with over-size O-rings.
  7. wrapper_chuck

I made my wrapper from aluminum found at the scrape yard. All pulleys were turned out of flat stock. The beds are 7 ft. long...can be butted together for a rod up to 13 ft. long. I had enought material left that I also made a dedicated dryer. Total cost for both pieces was $257.00...not counting my time.
  8. thread

I used 2 small nylon washers between 2 metal washers on each side of the spool...thread comes off very smooth...wing nuts are not really needed.
  9. nps2

    NPS reel seats
  10. nps

Surf rods with NPS reel seats..very comfortable
  11. mixer2

I cut about 1/2 inch off a threaded pvc fitting and glued it to the pulley. I can unscrew the round bottom mixing cup and sit it on my wrapper without it turning over. Cup turns at 10 rpms.
  12. mixer

I used a 1 tablebspoon measuring cup...removed the handle on glued it to piece of pvc...I like the round bottom.
