Finished my first reel seat. It's mesquite.

rough attempt at making a drying motor/chuck.

After not finding any suitable wheels to use I went with these roller blade wheels. Baptized it by refinishing this bamboo montague rod. Wife was happy to see her table put to good use <G>

Another view of this project. The uprights are made of granadillo with a maple 1/4" top over scrap oak base.
