There was little information here in the UK on feather inlays and their application. I had a few disasters on the way to learning how to do it the hard way. At last I have something I'm quite pleased with. I now need to get creative!

A little detail showing the Struble reel seat metal work combined with a fairly funky grain pattern to the rosewood I used for my first turned grip, insert and butt.

Having put together a couple of rods over the last 3 years this is the first one that I feel is worth showing. It is based on a Harrison progressive flex 3 piece 9ft 6in blank supplied by Leatherbarrows of Manchester with a snokeling rosewood grip, insert and butt that I turned myself and is matched to the metalwork from a Struble U20 reel seat. Lined blue framed rings are by American Tackle Co.
