  1. EVA Jig Slide

This picture shows the end view & underside of the sliding "box" part of the jig. It was construched from 2 pieces of 1x4 dimensional lumber (finger joint pine)screwd to a piece of 2x2 (same as guiderail. The other end of the box is closed, with a centerhole drilled in it. If the EVA is a loose fit in the box I shim along each side with strips of plexiglass or similar thin material.
  2. Overview of EVA jig

Picture shows both parts of the jig together The long box like structure slides on the guiderail and holds the EVA grip centred & straight while you drill the hoile by sliding it towards the drill.
  3. EVA jig showing guiderail

Picture shows base of jig which is a plank of 3/4" particle board with a guiderail made from a piece of 2x2, and a homemade cradle for my electric drill at the end. The drill is shimmed to center it with the jig using plastic shims cut from gallon milk jugs & held on with a hose clamp. I set up the drill with the sliding part of the jig on the guiderail & use various homemade levels to true it up. The sliding part of the jig holds the eva centred & you slide it onto the drill bit to drill the hole.
  4. Center drilling chevron grips

This jig helps center the hole down the grip. If the hole is off center the chevron pattern is lopsided.
  5. Cutting Chevrons

Chevron cutting set up on 9" bandsaw. Cut is made from edge to centerline then foam piece is flipped over & second cut made to centerline, meeting the first at the centerline
