  1. Simple feather inlay - first rod

First rod with simple feather inlay. Hexagraph fly rod blank (8-9wt) is solid graphite construction.
  2. Bar of silver

Fresh run Atlantic salmon grilse. Fly rod is built (not by me) on an old Fibatube (Hardy) blank and has seen extensive use. May not look pretty, but it has a superb performance characteristics and remains my favorite salmon rod.
  3. Arctic whitefish and fly

    Arctic whitefish and fly
  4. The double haul

    Fly fishing for Atlantic salmon
  5. Fish scales and feathers

Salmon scale and feather inlay. This was a first experimental attempt at using fish scales. Better results can be achieved by first soaking the scales in water so that they lie flat. The photo is a little dark, but in the sun the scales appear irridescent, just like those on a fresh run salmon.
  6. Salmon river, mountains and mist

    Salmon river, mountains and mist
  7. Feather Inlay Stained Cork

Signature feather inlay attached to thread under wrap BEFORE epoxy application. For the finished inlay (after epoxy application) see my photo gallery. The cork grip has been stained to give it a warm amber color.
