Size 10 Black Ceramic Stripper guide on my first completed rod.
  2. Hand-Turned Burl Cork Grip with woven graphite reel seat on my first completed rod.
  3. MP's Rainshadow RX7 6'6" 2wt

There it is, my first completed rod...not without it's flaws but overall I'm pleased. Set up as follows: Blank - Rainshadow RX7 6'6" 2wt Reel Seat - Pac Bay, Woven Graphite Insert, Black Hardware Cork Grip - My own hand-turned Burl Cork Hook Keeper - Fuji Flip Up, Black Guides - Single Foot Snakes Reel - Teton #3
  4. Well, there it is, this was my first attempt at turning my own handle. I used Grade B Burl Cork rings (whopping $0.25 each) along with Flor Cork for the ends. I did some grading of the burl rings and opted to utilize all the rings with large chunks of cork in this particular handle. Of my first three, I like this one the best. FYI I turned it on a powerdrill using the methods described in Graphite Rod Building on Fly Anglers Online.
