At the panel seminar someone asked Ralph "the Legend" O'Quinn "What's the best material to refinish a rod blank?" - Answer PermaGloss. Which led to an experiment using PermaGloss as a medium to change a rod blank color. Which led to 2-3 people at my booth with gloves on and a bowl of PermaGloss. It works but lesson learned: Don't mix in plastic unless you want a mess!

Gunsmoke frame / gold ring; gold gossamer (non-metallic thread) with medium green silk over - No Color Preserver

This is a photo of the first stripper guide on a 9wt AMTAK matrix fly rod blank. Underwrap is "gossamer" nylon gold (non metallic) burnishd to show gold/silver blotching to match Pac Bay milled reel seat with medium green silk overwraps on the guide foot. Hard to see but the green thread begins on the blank & spirals up to open loops. Finish is two coats of thin epoxy.

Handle assembly in progress for Putter's marbleizing magic. Cork with blue hypalon rings, American Tackle blue ring spinning guide for 6'6" rod that will have dark blue "work surface" for Putter to .. well, putter on
